A fire broke out in a high-rise residential building in Odesa because of electrical wiring problems. The firefighting efforts were hindered by heavy smoke.
According to the State Emergency Service press office, on May 10 in the Primorsky district, a fire occurred. The blaze started in an apartment on the 7th floor of a 14-story building located on Literary Street.
"Emergency units responded to the incident with an elevated alarm. The firefighting operations were complicated by significant smoke. Rescuers used breathing apparatuses for protection. It took about half an hour to completely extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical wiring. A total of 10 units of equipment and 40 firefighters were involved in the operation", - said the statement.
