The Mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, held a meeting focused on enhancing the city's energy independence.

During the meeting, participants visited residential buildings where rooftop solar power stations have already been installed.

Gennady Trukhanov highlighted the effective operation of these stations that are currently supplying electricity to residents.

He also emphasized the importance of reducing reliance on external networks – in case of a centralized power supply outage, residents will always have light, and elevators, heating, and pumps will operate using battery power.

Moreover, each homeowners' association can receive partial reimbursement for their electricity costs for each apartment.

Currently, four homeowners' associations, covering over 3,280 residents, are participating in the city program for partial compensation of expenses aimed at improving energy efficiency and independence.

The anticipated reduction in electricity consumption in these buildings will be 30%, significantly lowering family expenses and ensuring stable energy supply even during blackouts.

The mayor also stressed the importance of continuing efforts towards the city's energy independence. Homeowners' associations wishing to transition to solar energy can take advantage of support programs that offer reimbursement of 70% to 100% of equipment costs.

Reimbursements are provided by the state Energy Efficiency Fund as part of the city's support programs for homeowners' associations.
