A memorial event took place at Birzha Square near the Odessa City Council to honor the heroes who lost their lives in the war against Russian aggression.
The event gathered families of defenders, veterans, guests, and local residents.
On August 23, in the evening calm, hundreds of candles were lit. Each candle represented a name, a fate, and a heroism. The lights were arranged to form a map of Ukraine, reminding everyone that our nation stands firm on the bravery and dedication of its people.
“Every light from this evening event tells the story of a person who fought for Ukraine. It is our moral duty to remember those who will never return home and to ensure that their sacrifice was not in vain,” emphasized Pavel Vugelman, Deputy Mayor of Odessa.
We thank the NGO “Vyshyvankovy Festival” for organizing this event, the Military Orchestra of the Military Academy of Odessa, the families of the fallen soldiers, our military personnel, and everyone who shared this moment of remembrance.
