The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, held a meeting to discuss the restoration of damaged architectural heritage sites within the UNESCO zone.
Recently, Odesa welcomed a UNESCO mission aimed at documenting the impact of Russian attacks on world heritage sites.
Currently, emergency measures are underway to restore the integrity of roofs, except for the most severely damaged sections where upper floors are nearly destroyed.
In these areas, structural damages to buildings are being assessed. More extensive works are required to address these issues, which need approval from cultural heritage authorities.
During the meeting with Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Vasyl Shkurakov, the mayor raised concerns about legislative gaps that hinder residents of architectural heritage buildings from receiving compensation through the eRecovery program.
