Under the supervision of the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, a neurologist from a private clinic has been exposed and charged with receiving a bribe for influencing a state decision.
According to the investigation, the doctor promised a serviceman that she could «resolve» his discharge from service due to health issues for a fee. She claimed she could influence the military medical commission and create the necessary medical history to continue his hospitalization.
She valued her «services» at $4,500, demanding a $3,000 advance and planning to collect the remainder after the treatment was completed.
She was apprehended in her office while receiving the first installment of the bribe.
An investigation is underway to identify all individuals involved in this illegal scheme.
The preliminary investigation is conducted by the investigative unit of the Odesa police department with operational support from the National Police's DWB.
