Under the supervision of the Malinovsky District Prosecutor's Office in Odesa, a 38-year-old man has been charged with distributing pornography and sexually assaulting a minor (part 2 of Article 301, part 3 of Article 156-1, and parts 4 and 6 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect found the account of a 10-year-old girl on the messaging app «Telegram». Aware of her age, he posed as a 12-year-old boy to gain the child's trust and initiate communication.
During their conversations, he sent the child pornographic images and videos, and attempted to psychologically manipulate her into hiding their communication from her parents and meeting in person.
After receiving consent from the victim, the perpetrator arranged three meetings in remote, deserted locations. Taking advantage of her age-related vulnerabilities, he repeatedly committed sexual violence against her.
It has also been established that a similar indictment is currently being considered against him in the Uman District Court in the Cherkasy region.
Presently, at the request of the prosecution, the suspect has been remanded in custody.
The preliminary investigation is being conducted by investigators from the V.P. No. 1 of the Odesa Regional Police Department.
