In Odessa, efforts are underway to create a new water supply source for the city’s residents.
Construction of a well complex featuring artesian water began in September 2024 in the park near the “Zoryany” cinema, as reported by the Odessa City Council press service. This initiative aims to improve water supply for the residents of the Peresyp district. The drilling and setup of the artesian well have been completed, and the perimeter of its sanitary protection zone is now enclosed with a decorative fence. Currently, the contracting organization is working on the construction of the well complex: equipment for water purification is being installed, a technical room for staff is being set up, and a water distribution point is being organized. The roofing of the building is nearing completion. Additionally, interior finishing works in the technical building of the well complex are ongoing: wall plastering, floor leveling, laying of networks and communications, and more. Preparatory work has also begun to improve the area surrounding the well complex. The construction is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2025.
