In Odessa, a program for adaptive sports aimed at veterans is being actively implemented. In 2024, the sports club "Odessa-Basket" organized nearly 200 training sessions across various adaptive sports.
Veterans particularly engaged in sports billiards (97 sessions) and wheelchair basketball (35 sessions).
Additionally, sessions were held for golf, table tennis, boxing, diving, and kayaking. The introduction of amputee football for veterans has also begun.
Our veterans represented Odessa at the world championship for athletes with mobility impairments in Los Angeles, as well as at national competitions in adaptive billiards and wheelchair basketball.
