«Revealing the Invisible», art therapy and spring awakening: a new exhibition by Genadiy Kim will take place at the Bleschunov House.

At the exhibition of artist, theologian, and educator Genadiy Kim «Revealing the Invisible», spectators will see new works created over the last two years. During this time, the artist has also developed his own art therapy program and will hold creative meetings for anyone interested, where they can work on their inner state through color.

Genadiy Kim works in the technique of pointillism (from French point - dot) — a stylistic direction characterized by the use of the effect of optical color mixing directly on the viewer's retina, allowing for the creation of incredibly complex color effects of nuanced painting that are impossible to reproduce with mechanical paint mixtures.

The curator of exhibitions at the Bleschunov Museum, artist Maria Apryatova, notes that Kim masterfully controls this technique: «The artist conveys the finest nuances of color relationships, which can only be observed in the natural environment. Most importantly, the artist is able to convey even the shades of the sacred space, making Kim a kind of guide into the invisible mysterious world».

In his new compositions, the artist uses acrylic paint for the first time, which makes the works appear more contrasting. The main idea of his painting is to convey the invisible world through visible means of visual art.

«This approach allows us to feel thoughts and ideas through color and composition. After all, a painting is a reflection of the unknown — an expression through visible images of what is difficult to explain in words. These principles have become the foundation for art therapy, which allows us to feel and address spiritual and emotional issues of our inner world through color,» believes Genadiy Kim.

The exhibition will be presented at the Odessa Museum of Personal Collections named after O.V. Bleschunov from March 20 to April 15, 2025.

Visiting hours: Thursday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
