The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, inspected the progress of the renovation at the city maternity hospital No. 5.
The repair works are funded as part of Ukraine's Recovery Program, with contributions from the European Investment Bank and the city budget.
“80% of the funding comes from the European Investment Bank, while 20% is allocated by the city. Once the renovations are complete, new mothers will give birth in comfortable conditions, and we hope this will positively affect the birth rate,” said Hennadiy Trukhanov.
The renovation and modernization of the facility will enable the establishment of a perinatal center based at maternity hospital No. 5, as outlined in Odesa's Economic and Social Development Strategy.
This requires a substantial amount of work, including thermal modernization: insulating facades, renovating operating rooms, and updating electrical and internal systems.
