The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine intends to implement an initiative where military units will take mentorship over universities. This innovation will be part of the course "Fundamentals of National Resistance".
The course will cover not just theoretical aspects but also practical interaction between military units and educational institutions.
This was discussed by Minister of Education Oksen Lisovyi during an interview on Radio Khartia.
According to him, this will help young people deepen their understanding of national resistance and develop their worldview.
A basic military training program is set to begin in universities soon, which will differ from standard military training.
"When young people are mobilized for service, they will undergo comprehensive training before integrating into combat units," the minister stated.
Collaboration is planned between military units located in the regions of the universities, as well as interregional cooperation.
"Not every brigade is ready to work with universities, as the issues of ideology and values are significant," Oksen Lisovyi added.
The minister believes that such collaboration could establish a tradition where military units mentor universities, fostering strong connections and involving youth in important events.
"The military honors its fallen and wounded, which is also an important aspect in educating youth," he emphasized.
This initiative was inspired by the traditions of certain universities that already have experience in working with military units.
