In Ukraine, a new list of essential educational tools and equipment for teaching the subject "Defense of Ukraine" to high school students has been approved.
This order was issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
In addition to standard boards, markers, chairs, and tables, the list includes:
- FPV drone control simulators with computers;
- interactive laser shooting simulators;
- radio stations for learning basic communication;
- training track elements;
- mannequins for CPR and first aid training;
- tourniquets and bandages;
- tactical medicine kits;
- helmets and bulletproof vests.
"The updated equipment will enable students to learn life-saving first aid skills, prepare them for using modern technologies in security, develop critical thinking and resilience to misinformation, and form practical skills for action in emergencies," the ministry stated.
It is noteworthy that in 2024, the Ministry of Education approved a revised program for the subject "Defense of Ukraine", which will now be taught in specialized training centers serving multiple schools.
According to Oksen Lisovyi, the educational program has eliminated "everything that stemmed from the Soviet approach", and both girls and boys are now taught together, rather than separately as it was previously.
The ministry emphasizes that the new teaching approach considers modern challenges and needs in national security and aims to foster patriotic awareness and the development of practical skills.
