How to Protect Yourself from Scammers
PrivatBank cardholders often receive calls from individuals posing as «security service representatives» of the bank. They claim that «several suspicious transactions to an aggressor country have been recorded on the client’s card within the last 20 minutes.»
The fraudsters offer to cancel the transactions, arrange fraud insurance, and pressure people to urgently follow their instructions, including recording voice messages and «verifying» their card details.
To gain trust, they provide a «personal number» that they claim can be found on the PrivatBank website.
These actions are aimed at stealing personal data from clients for further criminal activities. Bank employees never ask for the card number, PIN code, or CVV code.
Citizens are urged to never disclose personal information or conduct financial transactions during calls from unknown individuals.
If you receive a call from scammers, immediately contact the bank's call center to report the incident. If you become a victim of fraud, contact cyber police or other competent authorities.
