On the occasion of World Science Day, the State University of Intellectual Technologies and Communication (SUITT) hosted the second Science Skills Booster SUITT - 2025 youth scientific and technical creativity contest.

Participants included both individual entrants and teams. The event was held in a hybrid format, both in-person and online. The preliminary round took place throughout May, with the finals occurring on May 17.

The best projects were presented by students from Odesa Lyceums No. 49, 62, 72, 121, 122, the ‘Maryinsky’, and students from the Professional College of Communication and Informatization of SUITT.

Participants showcased a wide variety of projects, including computer games, alternative messengers, innovative devices, and technical solutions for education. Among the most notable projects were the ‘Safe Home’ system, a smart solar panel with automatic orientation, and a power supply made from household items that can function during blackouts.

The winners of the Science Skills Booster SUITT - 2025 contest were:

Grand Prix (a cash prize of 8,000 UAH from the main sponsor – the Ukrainian ISOC branch) went to the ‘LUX’ team from Odesa Lyceum No. 62 for their innovative smart solar panel development.

1st place – project ‘ProtoFlex – a utility for assigning individual VPN connections to specific applications’ (author – Anatoliy Lakakov, 11th grader from Maryinsky Lyceum, scientific supervisors – teachers Iryna Buz and Olena Lohina).

2nd place was shared by the project ‘Pinger – a messenger for secure communication and data transfer’ (author – Mykhailo Fasolia, 8th grader from Maryinsky Lyceum, scientific supervisors – Iryna Buz and Olena Lohina) and the development of ‘An Interactive Platform for Learning Programming Using Docker Containerization’ (author – Bohdan Popravka, 9th grader from Odesa Lyceum No. 72, scientific supervisor – teacher Olena Kravchuk).
Winners received cash prizes from SUITT.

“Today we were once again convinced that our youth have a clear vision of the future, are ready to work for the prosperity of the country, and impress with innovative ideas,” summed up the chairman of the Ukrainian ISOC branch Yuriy Kargapolov.
