Last week, with the support of the Health Department of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center, a preventive campaign was conducted in Odesa in recognition of World Hepatitis Day.
On this day, anyone interested could take a quick, anonymous test for hepatitis B and C for free. Regular testing allows for the early detection of hepatitis before clinical symptoms appear, enabling timely treatment and preventing severe liver damage and other complications.
As a result of the event, 483 individuals participated in voluntary anonymous testing, with 10 testing positive. 20 people were referred for consultation with an infectious disease specialist.
Medical professionals remind that testing for hepatitis B and C using rapid tests is included in the package of free primary medical care under the state medical guarantee program. You can get tested through your family doctor.
