On October 29, 2025, an oncology seminar took place in Odesa focusing on the latest advancements in treating breast and lung cancer.

This event, organized with the support of the Odesa City Health Department and international medical associations, marked a significant step in the professional development of healthcare providers.

During the seminar, topics such as early diagnosis and prevention of cancer, achievements in lung cancer diagnostics, treatment organization for oncology patients, and support for palliative care patients and their families were discussed.

According to data from 2024, over 47,000 cancer patients, including 168 children, were registered in Odesa, highlighting the pressing need for preventive measures and early diagnosis.

The Health Department launched the "Odesa Against Cancer" project aimed at improving access to diagnostics and treatment while promoting cancer prevention among the city's residents.

Weekly preventive examinations introduced by the Health Department have significantly increased the population's access to cancer screenings, facilitating early disease detection.

In the first half of 2025, over 30,000 preventive examinations were conducted in healthcare facilities in Odesa, including more than 15,500 cancer screenings, leading to the initial detection of 300 suspected cases of oncology.

Experts from the Department have developed patient roadmaps for timely prevention and early detection of cancer, accessible via QR codes.

Informative posters are placed at bus stops and advertising platforms to disseminate information about early diagnosis and cancer prevention opportunities among Odesa residents.
