On October 4-5, the traditional judo tournament - European Cup of Hopes took place in Brno, Czech Republic, featuring young athletes under 13 and 15 years old.
The national team of Ukraine triumphed in the competition, securing 26 medals, including 6 gold ones.
Among the Ukrainian athletes, those from Odesa stood out. Ivan Arsenyuk, a student of the Odesa Regional Children's and Youth Sports School of Judo and Rugby (coach - Vladislav Bolichevsky), won a silver medal in the 38 kg category. In the 73 kg weight class, Oleksandr Severhin (coach - Oleg Spiak) earned a bronze medal.
In the specialized out-of-school educational institutions in Odesa, 144 students are engaged in judo.
