Struggling to understand how to interact with individuals who have combat experience?

Get advice that will help you act respectfully and appropriately in an interactive simulator created for the educational series «People with War Experience: Dignity and Interaction».

For instance:

* in the middle of the night, you wake up to your partner, who returned from the front lines, pushing you hard. He too is awake but doesn’t realize he’s home and continues to «fight» as he did in his dreams. What should you do next?

* at work, a veteran colleague begins to joke about dark subjects like death, injuries, and war. How should you respond?

The simulator will offer several options for action and provide explanations from experts, helping you understand how your behavior can affect your interaction with someone who has war experience.

Remember that each person’s experience is unique and requires an individualized approach. If you’re unsure how to act correctly, be open, tolerant, and don’t hesitate to ask questions.

For more information on how to interact appropriately with veterans, check out the educational series «People with War Experience: Dignity and Interaction», available on the Diia.Education platform and the YouTube channel «How Are You?»

This educational series was created under the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation as part of the communication campaign «How Are You?» of the nationwide mental health program initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska. The project continues the section «Guide to Barrier-Free Communication» and is implemented with the support of the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers, the NGO «Barrier-Free», and Visa, a participant in the «Business Without Barriers» community.
