Residents of the building on Prince Yaroslav the Wise Street, which was damaged by a drone strike on the night of May 1, are beginning to return to their homes.
The Mayor of Odessa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, informed the owners of the first entrance that they will be able to return to their residences starting Monday. Stabilization work has reached a stage where resident safety can be assured. Over the weekend, the building will be connected to all necessary utilities, and construction debris will be cleared from the surrounding area.
According to the contractor's forecasts, stabilization work is expected to be completed by the end of June. Occupancy of the second entrance is set to begin in early July, except for the apartments that were at the epicenter of the explosion. A separate reconstruction project will be developed for those apartments after the building stabilization is completed.
Owners of destroyed apartments can receive compensation for housing rental from the Kyiv District Administration until they can return to their restored apartments.
