The highlight of the Bulgarian Culture Week in Odesa was a festive concert. November 1st — Day of the National Awakening — is a holiday that unites the spirit of all Bulgarians, regardless of where they reside.
The General Consul of Bulgaria delivered a welcoming speech and presented Certificates of Appreciation for contributions to the development of Bulgarian culture.
«During the festival days, we had the chance to engage with the unique heritage of the Bulgarian people — music, literature, and folk art. These events vividly show how closely intertwined our cultural ties are and how our histories and traditions resonate with each other. Bulgaria has made a significant contribution to the development of Odesa, and the Bulgarian community remains an integral part of our society today», — noted the acting mayor of Odesa, Igor Koval.
The concert featured folk singer and composer Ilia Lukov from the Macedonian folklore region — a legend of Bulgarian folk music, known for his numerous initiatives supporting Bulgarian identity both in Bulgaria and abroad.
Additionally, folk ensembles from Odesa performed, providing the audience with warmth, sincerity, and a rich tapestry of Ukrainian-Bulgarian cultural connections.
