Since the beginning of 2025, the municipal company «Miskzelentrest» has carried out the removal of 1522 hazardous and dead trees and branches in Odesa, including those affected by bad weather.
The inventory of trees is conducted by the Department of Urban Services in collaboration with the Department of Ecology and Recreation Zone Development. Based on the results of inspections, «Miskzelentrest» undertakes the removal of trees and branches.
In general, the removal of hazardous trees is done in response to citizen requests, due to adverse weather conditions, or as part of municipal landscaping programs.
Additionally, the greenery specialists are involved in stump grinding. Since the start of the year, 828 stumps have been removed. Young trees are already being planted in their places.

Stump grinding is a challenging task. Until this year, the municipal workers did not have specialized equipment for stump removal, which significantly complicated the process. Currently, the work is carried out using new machinery – the Rotor Speedy 80/100 stump grinder and the KATA KF1404 tractor with a power of 140 horsepower, designed for efficient and quality stump removal.
With the new equipment, the greenery specialists significantly reduce the time needed for physically demanding tasks through mechanization: previously, manual stump grinding was scheduled for 12 hours, while now the entire process for a 70 cm diameter stump takes only 40 minutes.
