A new space for community initiatives is set to be established in Odesa - the Odesa Youth Hub.
This was announced during an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee led by Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.
The mayor stated that the new hub will serve as a place for equal opportunities, where community organizations can conduct their activities, hold meetings, and collaboratively implement projects aimed at improving the lives of residents and internally displaced persons.
For this purpose, a two-story building with a large basement on Uspenska Street has been transferred to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The capital repairs will be managed by the specialized Capital Construction Management, which has already prepared the necessary project documentation.
“Our active youth have shown remarkable initiative. In December, the city won a grant from UNDP amounting to nearly $150,000, and we will act as the contractor for the renovation work. The implementation period is set until March 15, 2025,” the mayor reported.
The Executive Committee decided to transfer the project documentation from the Capital Construction Management to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The mayor tasked the head of the Capital Construction Management with assisting the youth in realizing the “Odesa Youth Hub” project.
