The Odesa regional prosecutor's office has submitted an indictment to the court against a medical worker from a healthcare institution in Odesa region for treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Investigations revealed that the accused voluntarily assisted Russian intelligence in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine. He anticipated being offered a leadership position in the occupying administration if the region was captured.

The man provided the aggressor with the locations of personnel from the Territorial Defense Forces, the State Border Guard Service, and the Maritime Guard in the Izmail district.

Another task assigned to him was to monitor the activity of vessels entering the local port and the types of cargo they were transporting.

This data was utilized by the occupiers to plan new and adjust previous strikes on the Danube region of Odesa.

Specific information about the whereabouts of Ukrainian defenders and military infrastructure, including building locations and geographical coordinates, was transmitted to an FSB officer via a messaging app.

The agent was apprehended in August 2024, and during a search, a mobile phone containing evidence of his criminal activities was confiscated.

He is currently in custody at the request of the prosecution.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a lawful manner by a court verdict.
