In 2025, families welcoming a new child will still be eligible to receive financial support for the one-time natural assistance known as the «baby package».
This compensation is a one-time payment for each live-born child, intended to help purchase various baby products: hygiene items, clothing, footwear, baby food, toys, and other essential supplies for infants.
The compensation will be provided to the parents of the newborn, or, in their absence, to foster parents or guardians in a cashless form through special bank accounts opened at participating banks in the baby package monetization program. A list of these banks is available on the official website of the State Service for Children of Ukraine.
The amount of financial compensation equals three subsistence minimums for children under six years old, established at the time of the child’s birth. Starting January 1, 2025, this amount will be 7689 UAH.
Compensation applications can be submitted:
- in person at the social protection department;
- via postal service;
- electronically through the «eBaby» service during birth registration.
Applications for financial compensation must be made within 12 months from the date of birth.
Recipients can use the allocated funds within one year for purchasing baby products at stores participating in the baby package monetization program. A list of these stores is published on the Ministry of Social Policy's website.
Additionally, parents can receive the natural assistance package, which includes over 50 quality baby items. In 2025, the package will feature new useful items, such as reusable diapers and warm clothing. Among the additions is the book «From Birth to One Year» published by UNICEF, which provides valuable advice for new parents.
