Ukrposhta is set to launch a new series of stamps depicting lighthouses from the Black and Azov Seas, including those located in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
This collection is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" project that started in 2009, as stated by company representatives.
The release of this year’s stamps coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the State Hydrographic Service, which oversees the maintenance of Ukrainian lighthouses.
"This time, the stamps will tell the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as those in Crimea that, though temporarily occupied, remain an integral part of Ukraine not just on the map but also in the hearts of Ukrainians", officials from Ukrposhta explained.
The new stamps will feature:
- The Ai-Todor and Chaudin lighthouses in Crimea;
- The Shagan lighthouse in Odesa region;
- The Bilosarai and Berdyansk Upper lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
- The Russian Back lighthouse, or the Bug-Dnipro-Liman canal lighthouse, in Mykolaiv region.
