The new high-speed boat will allow the ‘Delta-Pilot’ branch to reduce expenses through fuel savings and eliminate delays in delivering marine pilots to vessels.

“The launch of the new pilot boat is another crucial step in strengthening our fleet and enhancing the operational efficiency of ports,” said AMPU head Oleksandr Semyrha.

The boat is named after Serhiy Cheberyakov, an experienced pilot who dedicated over 18 years to maritime affairs and trained many generations of specialists. Tragically, Serhiy died in 2023 while attempting to escape from the occupied territories of Kherson region.

In December 2024, the pilot boat “Bolotin” commenced operation on the Danube, built with the support of the USAID program, while construction of a third boat continues in Izmir, Turkey.
