WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBO heavyweight champion Alexander Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) expressed his views on the top boxer globally.
The Ring has reported his statement.
Usyk believes he is not the best, as that title belongs to Terence Crawford. The 37-year-old American was the undisputed champion in the welterweight division in 2023, and over the years, Crawford held titles in various categories including WBO, WBC, WBA-Super, and IBF.
In 2023-2024, he was recognized as the best boxer in the world, regardless of weight class, by The Ring.
Crawford will fight Saul Canelo Alvarez on September 13 in Las Vegas, with a live broadcast available on Netflix. It has also been confirmed that a special The Ring belt will be on the line.
As for Usyk, he is set to face Daniel Dubois on July 19 at Wembley. Their first bout took place on August 26, 2023, in Wrocław, where Usyk won by technical knockout in the 9th round.
Previously, Crawford mentioned one of the Ukrainian boxers as part of his list of those he considers to be 'elite'.
