A tragic event unfolded in Odesa when a drunken tenant killed his landlord during a shared gathering. The perpetrator fled to the capital, where he was later apprehended by law enforcement. He faces nine years in prison for his crime.

The incident occurred in March of last year in the apartment of a 63-year-old resident on Breus Street. When the man stopped answering calls from friends, they contacted the police. Officers discovered him lifeless upon arrival at the scene.

During the initial investigation, police determined that a 53-year-old man from another region, who had rented a room from the victim, was involved in the murder.

Investigators learned that the day before the discovery of the body, a conflict arose between the men over differing views on life, leading the tenant to inflict multiple stab wounds on his landlord. Following the attack, he fled to Kyiv, where he was eventually apprehended.

The suspect was detained by police based on gathered evidence. Using a mobile DNA laboratory, investigators confirmed his involvement in the crime. A forensic examination concluded that the cause of death was penetrating injuries to the chest.

Police detained the perpetrator based on sufficient evidence, and he was charged with intentional murder. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to nine years in prison. He admitted his guilt and expressed sincere remorse.
