A 20-year-old man has been charged with drug offenses and faces imprisonment.
In the afternoon, patrol officers stopped a local resident on the Health Trail, where he was placing «stash spots» with illegal substances. The investigative team from Odesa's police department seized a total of 22 zip bags containing psychotropic substances, which were confirmed by tests and sent for further examination.
The suspect was detained, and during the pre-trial investigation, it was found that he communicated with an unknown supplier online, received illegal goods via mail, packaged them at home, and distributed them through «stash spots». He documented these locations on his mobile phone, which has also been confiscated, and sent addresses and photos to buyers.
Investigator Marina Yermolenko stated that sufficient evidence led to charges under parts 1 and 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – for the illegal acquisition, storage, and distribution of psychotropic substances, specifically as a repeat offender. The court has placed the suspect in custody with the option of bail set at 60,565 hryvnias. According to current legislation, the offender faces up to 10 years of imprisonment with asset confiscation.
During the investigation, police will identify other individuals involved in drug trafficking. The investigation continues under the supervision of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office of Odesa.
