Law enforcement officials are actively educating children about safety, covering behavior in schools, public places, and online.
Recently, representatives of the National Police and Emergency Services visited the Konoplyanska community to conduct safety classes for students.
During the event, officers discussed traffic safety rules with the children. They emphasized the importance of caution near roads, transforming this into an engaging game where kids learned about safe street crossing, especially in the dark, using reflective elements.
The topic of mine safety was also addressed. Children learned about different types of explosive devices and the proper actions to take when encountering them, as well as watched a video that helped them better understand this issue.
«Children eagerly participated in the quizzes we prepared. It was nice to see their enthusiasm and knowledge in their answers,» - highlighted juvenile prevention inspector Natalia Ship.
In other communities of the Odesa region, lessons on digital literacy were also conducted, where juvenile police explained the importance of using official information sources and being cautious on social media.
«We emphasized the use of verified resources and caution in communication with strangers. Children must have a clear understanding of the risks associated with social networks,» - noted senior inspector Yulia Isaeva.
The police also reminded teenagers about the responsibility for offenses that begins at 14 or 16 years old. Younger offenders also undergo certain corrective measures.
