Students in Odesa will return to in-person learning starting Monday, April 14, provided that classroom temperatures exceed 17 degrees Celsius. Each school makes this decision independently.

This information was shared on April 13 by the director of the city’s education department, Olena Buiievych.

Class teachers are required to inform parents about the situation in their schools.

“Today, all schools will check the temperatures. If they exceed +17°C, we will resume in-person classes. School directors and teachers are just as interested in in-person learning as parents and students. The end of last week validated the decision for remote learning, so we are acting according to the Sanitary Regulations,” Buiievych stated.

It is worth noting that due to a sudden drop in temperature, Odesa schools switched to remote learning starting April 8. This caused outrage among parents who believe that children should attend school.
