A resident of the Odessa region is facing legal action for illegally occupying protected land. He built a gazebo for recreation directly in the territory of the Lower Dniester National Park. The police documented the offense, and now the fisherman faces up to two years in prison.

According to law enforcement, a 62-year-old man from the Yaskiv community illegally occupied a plot of land by the Dniester River, right within the protected natural area. He set up a fishing zone with a gazebo without any permits.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the man occupied 33.21 m² of land that is part of the Lower Dniester National Nature Park.
"The man used a part of the state nature park for his private recreational area. He had no permits whatsoever," said investigator Daria Stotska.
It is known that the land seized by the man is of state significance and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
What is the punishment for illegal land occupation?
The pre-trial investigation against the violator is complete, and the indictment has been sent to court. The accused is charged with illegal occupation of land, specifically concerning particularly valuable lands. According to part 2 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he faces up to two years in prison.
