In Odesa, the healthcare facilities are expanding services for patients with cancer.
The city hospitals have partnered with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU), providing free chemotherapy and patient support under the state medical guarantee program.
At City Clinical Hospital No. 10, chemotherapy is conducted at the hospital's oncology department, serving 20-25 patients daily.
Chemotherapy services are available for residents of Odesa and other regions of Ukraine free of charge with a doctor's electronic referral for patients with clinically and morphologically confirmed malignant tumors.
The oncology medical service at MCL No. 10 includes outpatient chemotherapy, oncologist consultation rooms, and departments for general and minimally invasive surgery.
This oncology service integrates surgical, chemotherapy, and diagnostic treatment options, allowing for comprehensive patient care throughout the diagnosis and therapy process.
At City Clinical Hospital No. 1, chemotherapy is also provided free of charge, with approximately 120 patients receiving treatment since the beginning of this year.
Starting in 2025, the oncology service will be developing at City Clinical Hospital No. 11, which primarily focuses on treating head and neck tumors.
The Department of Health is actively implementing comprehensive cancer prevention and early detection programs, with around 10,000 Odesa residents undergoing cancer screening in the first half of this year.
