Nearly 1,000 patients have received medical care in the newly opened cardiology and cardiac surgery department at City Clinical Hospital No. 11 in Odesa this year. Over 600 patients with cardiology issues and 370 with cardiac surgery needs have benefited from the services.
During this period, doctors have performed almost 900 surgical procedures, including 174 operations on patients experiencing acute myocardial infarction, particularly involving stenting or balloon angioplasty.
The department also conducts vascular surgeries, thromboextractions for pulmonary embolism, and various other surgical interventions.
Under the state medical guarantees program, the department has carried out 293 planned coronary angiographies, with an additional 100 angiographies provided to Odesa residents as part of the City Target Program “Health”.
Patients receive free medical assistance and particularly appreciate the comfortable conditions in the department.
The new cardiology department adheres to all accessibility requirements - a new elevator has been installed, inclusive restrooms have been created, Braille signs are displayed, and there is a convenient ramp and tactile tile at the entrance.
Providing highly qualified cardiological and cardiac surgical care enhances the capabilities of the cluster hospital and helps preserve the health and lives of patients with cardiovascular diseases. This is an important step towards the further development of medicine in Odesa.
