Experts from Odesa City Clinical Hospital No. 10 participated in the 13th Winter Stroke School held in Bern, Switzerland. This event brought together leading specialists from 20 countries who discussed innovative treatment approaches and shared practical experiences in stroke management.

The school's program included the latest international guidelines for stroke treatment up to 2026, discussions of real clinical cases, and practical skills training in an angiography suite and on specialized mannequins.

The training took place at the University Clinic of Bern, where sessions on managing patients with acute ischemic stroke and workshops on modern endovascular techniques were conducted for physicians.

The training was organized in pairs, consisting of a neurologist and a neuro-radiologist, which ensured an interdisciplinary format — a standard for the effective operation of stroke centers worldwide.

“This experience is incredibly valuable for us — seeing how the stroke department operates in Switzerland, connecting with colleagues from various countries, and discussing complex clinical cases. It is gratifying that international specialists were impressed by our experience and how rapidly stroke care is evolving in Ukraine,” noted Alexander Skripka, head of the angiographic and interventional neuro-radiology unit at Clinical Hospital No. 10.

The knowledge and skills gained during this international training will be utilized by Odesa doctors to improve the quality of medical care for patients.
