A major scientific and practical conference focused on contemporary medical aspects of rehabilitation has commenced in Odessa. This event is organized with the participation of the Odessa National Medical University and the Rehabilitation Management Association.
Over two days, leading specialists will discuss essential issues related to the organization of rehabilitation services in Southern Ukraine, including: the implementation of a patient-centered approach to rehabilitation in cluster hospitals, collaboration between medical and non-medical rehabilitation service providers, the development of adaptive sports, as well as the provision of technical rehabilitation aids and social support.
The director of the Odessa City Health Department, Levon Nikoghosyan, spoke about the establishment of a unified rehabilitation service system in the city.
Comprehensive rehabilitation involves engaging health care facilities of various ownership forms, social services, sports organizations, and NGOs. Eight city medical institutions have multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams, and a dedicated department has been created within the Health Department for their effective coordination.
Medical institutions in Odessa have signed agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine, allowing for outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, as well as free psychological support under the state medical guarantee program.
Odessa's medical professionals continuously learn from the best practices in Ukraine and globally to implement innovative rehabilitation technologies in the city's medical facilities.
«Rehabilitation assistance is one of the most important directions of our time. The consequences of the war affecting our society can only be addressed through quality and effective rehabilitation,» emphasized Levon Nikoghosyan, director of the city Health Department.
