On the final competitive day of the Euro-2025 Championship, Ukraine was represented in the only final - in the 50-meter freestyle event.

18-year-old swimmer Nikita Sheremet from Odesa's SDYUSSHOR «Dynamo» made his debut at international adult competitions.

In the final, Sheremet clocked 20.81 seconds, setting a new Ukrainian record and a world junior record. With this performance, he secured a silver medal at Euro-2025, sharing second place with Olympic medalist Maxime Grousse from France.

During the championships, Nikita also established two more junior records for Ukraine: in the 4x50 m relay and the 100 m freestyle. Sheremet became the first Ukrainian to win a medal in the 50-meter freestyle at the Euro Short Course Swimming Championships in 12 years.

His coaches are Alla Timofeeva and Alexandra Kurbanova.
