On September 24, the Odesa City Council decided to rename the following streets:
- Chapayeva Street has been renamed to Vyacheslav Kyrylov Street (Peresyp district),
- Serednia Street is now known as Oleksandr Sviash Street (Khadyzibey district).
Additionally, the park at the intersection of Fontanska Road and Lesia Ukrainka Avenue has been named “Lesia Ukrainka Park” (Primorsky district).
The renaming of these locations was recommended by the historical-toponymic commission of the Odesa City Council and underwent a public electronic discussion process.
The relevant changes have been incorporated into the Odesa City Council’s decision from November 9, 2005, No. 4858-IV “On the Naming of Streets, Lanes, Avenues, Squares, Parks, Squares, Bridges, and Other Structures Located in the City of Odesa”.
