Odessa athlete Vadim Naumenko secured 4 gold medals at the Lithuanian Swimming Championship, which took place in Vilnius from April 3 to 6.
SUMMARY OF RESULTS
Leading Odessa swimmer Vadim Naumenko (coach – Oleksandra Kurbanova) achieved top honors in the 200m and 400m individual medley events, as well as in the relays – 4x100 medley and 4x200 freestyle.
Additionally, Vadim ranked among the top 6 swimmers of the championship and received special awards along with his coach.
MEDAL DETAILS
In his signature event – the 200m individual medley – Vadim Naumenko finished first with a time of 2:02.11, gaining an advantage from the very start, while he completed the 400m in 4:23.07. In both instances, another Ukrainian swimmer, Anton Denysenko (Rivnenska), took second place.
In the medley relay, the Ukrainian team, comprising Vadim and Anton along with Maksym Ovchinnikov and Denys Kesil (both from Dnipropetrovsk), clocked in at 3:41.07, outpacing their nearest competitor by 2.45 seconds.
In the 4x200 freestyle relay, the Ukrainian team triumphed with a time of 7:30.75 (+1.62 ahead of the silver medallist). Instead of Ovchinnikov, Georgiy Lukashev (Lviv) took part here.
UPCOMING EVENTS
The next competition for the Odessa region team will be the Ukrainian Championship, scheduled for April 25-29 in Brovary.
Moreover, on April 12-13, Arseniy Poberezhnyuk (2007-2009) and Ivan Ryaduev (2010-2011) will participate in the international competition “Multination”. The older group will compete in Limassol (Cyprus), while the younger group will compete in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
