Today, a significant meeting took place with the participation of Kyiv experts from the «Barrier-Free Movement» project of the Ministry of Community Development of Ukraine, alongside representatives from municipal and regional authorities and the Council for Barrier-Free Access. The meeting was chaired by Alexander Filatov, the first deputy mayor of Odessa.

As Mayor Gennady Trukhanov mentioned, Odessa is among the 15 pilot cities participating in the «Barrier-Free Movement» initiative under the patronage of First Lady Olena Zelenska.

Within the framework of the project, funded by municipal, regional, and state budgets, an inclusive pedestrian route is planned in the Peresyp district of Odessa, linking social facilities with the tram line «North-South».

The route will run along Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue from the intersection with Kishinevskaya Street to the intersection with Ak. Zabolotny Street, leading to the Odessa Regional Clinical Hospital, including access to the CNAP on David Oistrakh Street.
On this section of the route, the installation of barrier-free environment elements is planned: pedestrian pathways, ramps, adapted public transport stops, parking spaces, and information systems, providing opportunities for accessible movement for people with disabilities.

Currently, work is being coordinated with a team of experts who are surveying the reconstruction sites.

Moreover, the working group with Kyiv experts visited the Odessa coastline to review the progress of the inclusive beach project and other social infrastructure facilities.
