The first round of the open volleyball tournament «Southern League» took place in Odesa for girls in two age categories: born in 2008 and 2010, as well as younger.
Eleven teams from Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Zhytomyr participated in the competition. The tournament format includes 4 regular rounds and 1 final.
Among the athletes born in 2008, the Odesa team «Lantana» excelled, representing the Complex Children and Youth Sports School No. 8. The Odesa team won all their matches, losing only two sets throughout the round.
In second place in this category were the athletes from Mykolaiv, while the bronze went to the players from Kryvyi Rih.
In the competition for the 2010 age group, the team «Dzhynestra» from the Odesa Complex Children and Youth Sports School achieved a confident victory. The second place went to the athletes from Zhytomyr, and the third place was secured by the team from Mykolaiv.
The «Dzhynestra» team included athletes from the beach volleyball division.
