On the night of April 30 to May 1, 2025, during a large-scale attack on Odesa, a residential building on Prince Yaroslav the Wise Avenue was severely damaged by a hostile drone strike. Following an expert assessment, the building was declared hazardous.
Currently, stabilization efforts are underway. Odesa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, held a meeting and inspected the progress of the work.
«Since May 16, a heavy-duty crane has been operating at the site. Emergency response measures have been completed, and stabilization is ongoing. According to the plan, residents of the first entrance will be able to return to their apartments by June 10», — stated the mayor.
Regarding the second entrance, which was hit by the drone, a project for major repairs will be developed after stabilization work is completed. This will determine the necessary funding for the building's restoration.
Marina Lozovenko, head of the Kyiv District Administration, announced that during this period, residents are offered compensation from the city budget for housing rental.
Additionally, the mayor's advisor, Veronika Etnarovich, who coordinates work with NGOs, reported that 156 apartments from this building will receive financial assistance of 10,800 UAH for each registered family member (totaling 355 people) from the NGO «Tenth of April» with the support of Mercy Corps.
