In Odessa, the Patrol Police have identified 25 crucial intersections that significantly impact traffic safety in the city.
During emergency power outages (blackouts), the Municipal Enterprise "SMEP" collaborates with the Patrol Police to monitor traffic light operations.
All key intersections are equipped with large uninterruptible power supplies that ensure traffic lights operate autonomously (if fully charged) for 4 to 8 hours.
If necessary, the Municipal Enterprise "SMEP" replaces batteries, and in emergencies, works with the Department of Transport, Communications, and Traffic Organization to connect generators to maintain traffic light functionality.
During battery replacements and generator connections, the Patrol Police manage traffic at the intersections.
Drivers are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic regulations.
