Today, June 3rd, Odesa welcomed Ruslan Prykhodko, Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, for a working visit.
The purpose of his visit was to review the city's inclusive locations and prepare for the upcoming wellness season.
During the visit, Ministry representatives were presented with the work of the Barrier-Free Council in Odesa. Special attention was given to the creation of the inclusive route 'North-South' as part of the National Project 'Movement Without Barriers', which is being implemented in 15 cities across Ukraine under the patronage of the First Lady, Olena Zelenska.
The Deputy Minister praised the efforts to create a barrier-free environment in Odesa, conducted in collaboration with veterans and persons with disabilities. This includes the establishment of facilities for recreation and sports, where a new inclusive sports ground at 'Dolphin' features equipment adapted for people with disabilities.
Ruslan Prykhodko also met with Odesa's adaptive rowers, who participate in various international competitions.
Additionally, he expressed a desire to meet with Odesa's veterans in future sessions of the Barrier-Free Council.
