The city of Vinnytsia hosted the open Ukrainian championship for young athletes born in 2007 and younger in small-bore shooting. More than 200 young shooters from 13 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv competed for medals.
The Odessa team consisted of students from the City Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 3 and the regional shooting sports school.
In the small-bore rifle prone event at 50 meters, Ilya Ananiev (CDYUSSH No. 3) became the Ukrainian champion, and Danilo Ananiev (CDYUSSH No. 3) took third place. In the team competition for this event, they also emerged as champions alongside regional shooting school athlete Yegor Mozusenko.
In the small-bore rifle three positions event, the Odessa team comprising Ilya Ananiev, Ilya Kostev (CDYUSSH No. 3), and Yegor Mozusenko (regional shooting school) also claimed the title of Ukrainian champions.
Among girls in the small-bore rifle prone at 50 meters, the Odessa team of Ksenia Gerasymova (CDYUSSH No. 3), Kateryna Nikonenko, and Vitalina Martyniuk (regional shooting school) won silver medals.
The athletes were trained by coaches Olga Chikalova (CDYUSSH No. 3) and Svitlana Skachko (regional shooting school).
