In Odesa, the operation of several pumping stations has been halted due to an emergency break in a 1200 mm diameter water main located outside the city boundaries.
To access the affected area and commence restoration efforts, it took nearly a day to construct access roads and platforms for heavy machinery.
Excavators weighing at least 18 tons are deployed for work on large diameter mains, so specialists from 'InfoksVodokanal' had to create a special 'pad' made of several layers of concrete slabs and sand, using over 150 tons of sand.
Currently, the specialists have excavated the pit, reached the site of damage, and begun restoration work.
Due to the lack of centralized water supply, technical water delivery has been organized.
