In Odessa, the restoration of the water supply is nearing completion following a major break in the main pipeline that left residents in three of the city's districts without water. Water supply is expected to resume today.

Key points:

  • The restoration work on the main water pipeline in Odessa is coming to an end.
  • The accident occurred in complex conditions — right in the swamp, complicating repair efforts.
  • As of 5 PM, municipal workers are preparing to start the pumps for testing.

Water is being returned to Odessa.

This was reported by Deputy Mayor Anna Pozdnyakova.

She noted that the damage occurred in a challenging area — right in the middle of a field, in a swamp. Access to the site required building a temporary road using 150 tons of sand and concrete slabs, excavating a pit, and working without breaks.

“The team is handling the situation heroically. They are currently preparing to start the pumps and gradually increase pressure in the network. This is a complex but controlled process,” Pozdnyakova assured.
