In Odesa, a comprehensive inspection of leased beaches is underway to ensure adherence to operational standards, sanitary conditions, and free access for all citizens.

Upon the mayor's initiative, a working group has been established, comprising representatives from the city administration, the Barrier-Free Council, and veterans.

The main goal of the group is to assess the level of accessibility, inclusivity, and free access to the beaches.

On August 22, the group inspected the beaches of the Kyiv district. The members checked whether 30% of the leased area was allocated for free use; if there were any illegal barriers or structures obstructing access; if sanitary norms were being followed; if conditions were created for individuals with disabilities; and whether free passage along the waterline and between beach sections was ensured.

During the inspection, violations were identified, including the placement of sun loungers near the water, obstructing passage, as well as illegal temporary structures on the promenades. The lessees received directives for immediate rectification of the noted deficiencies.

Based on the inspection results, consolidated proposals for improving beach accessibility for the next recreational season will be prepared.
