At the newly opened inclusive beach on the 11th station of the Great Fountain in Odessa, the Black Sea Cup in beach sambo took place.
Athletes from various corners of Ukraine participated in the competition.
The event was attended by Deputy Mayor Serhiy Kotsyuba, advisor on accessibility issues Oleksiy Morozov, president of the Odessa regional sambo federation NFSU Kadyzhik Babajanyan, head of the city’s Department of Physical Culture and Sports Ruslan Puzdrach, and director of the Department of Internal Policy Oleksandr Zhiltsov.
“This beach was designed to serve not only as a recreational area but also as a genuine barrier-free venue for events. Today's competition confirms this. Odessa will continue to support sports and accessibility,” emphasized Serhiy Kotsyuba.
“Our team at the Council on Accessibility saw great potential in this space during the planning stage. Today's competitions are the best proof that we have succeeded,” said Oleksiy Morozov.
Beach 11 has once again demonstrated its versatility and ability to host events of various scales, uniting sports, inclusion, and urban development.
