Law enforcement agencies are implementing educational programs in kindergartens, schools, and police departments. These activities take the form of interactive games, lessons, and excursions.
Recently, in Odesa and the surrounding districts, police officers engaged with children to discuss important topics such as traffic rules, home safety, the dangers of explosive devices, the risks of deviant behavior, and the role of law enforcement in fighting crime.
Children learned to recognize key traffic signs and signals, practiced safe road crossing, and were taught how to ensure their visibility at night using reflective elements.
The police also emphasized that, given the ongoing war, dangerous objects could be found anywhere. They stressed that such findings should not be touched, and instead, the authorities (101 for emergencies or 102 for police) should be notified.
Additionally, they discussed the importance of home safety rules, including not opening doors to strangers and avoiding interaction with household chemicals and matches.
Young people were informed about the risks of communicating with strangers, learning not to share personal information and how to firmly refuse any offers to engage in illegal activities for rewards.
Many activities focused on introducing children to law enforcement careers. Boys and girls learned about the daily duties of police officers, explored modern equipment, participated in simulated crime investigation exercises, and asked professionals various questions.
These meetings help instill respect for the law, teach responsibility, and assist in career choices.
